Who is responsible
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is:
Thomas Hummel (private individual, operator of Moblix)
Feldstraße 1
49733 Haren
Germany
E-mail: privacy@moblix.app
This policy covers the website moblix.app and the Android app Moblix Security Camera. For anything related to your data, write to the address above. We usually reply within a few days and always within one month.
Our principles
- We collect only what the app needs to work.
- We do not sell your data and the app shows no advertising.
- Person detection runs on your device; the camera stream is not sent to us for analysis.
- Your recordings and evidence photos are accessible only to you and to the devices you approve.
Data processed on the website
Server logs
When you open moblix.app, the web server of our hosting provider automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, requested page, referring page and browser identification. We need it to deliver the website and to protect it against abuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are deleted by the hosting provider after a short period.
Storage in your browser
The website stores two small entries in your browser’s local storage: your choice of light or dark theme and your cookie consent decision. They never leave your device and are strictly necessary for the functions you use, so no consent is required for them.
Google Analytics (only with your consent)
If you allow analytics cookies in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 by Google Ireland Limited to understand
how many people visit the website and which pages are useful. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example _ga)
and processes your shortened IP address, device and browser information and the pages you visit. The legal basis is your
consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which
is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Without your consent Google Analytics is not loaded at all. You can change or withdraw your decision at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
If you write to us, we use your address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed.
Data processed by the app
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Account: e-mail address, user ID | Sign-in and linking your cameras and devices to you | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Events: evidence photo, time, GPS location and address, camera device | Alerting you and keeping the event history you see in the app | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Device data: model, Android version, app version, notification token | Delivering push alerts to the owner and approved devices | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Crash reports and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics) | Finding and fixing errors, keeping detection reliable | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase), pseudonymous | Understanding which features are used and improving the app | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Purchases: order ID, plan, subscription status (via Google Play) | Activating and managing your paid plan | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
Permissions
The app asks for camera, location, notification and motion sensor permissions. The camera image is analysed on your phone; only an evidence photo taken during an alarm is uploaded. Location is added to the evidence photo so you know where the event happened. Sensor data for anti-theft protection is evaluated on the device. You can revoke any permission in Android settings, but the related feature will then stop working.
Payments
Paid plans are billed by Google Play. We never see your card or bank details; Google only tells us which plan is active.
Sharing with approved devices
Alerts and evidence are visible only to your account and the devices you have approved. You can remove a device at any time.
Service providers
We use carefully selected providers who process data only on our behalf and according to our instructions:
- Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC – Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics), Google Analytics and Google Play billing. Event data is stored in an EU location; some services may also process data in the USA under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
- alldomains – domain and web hosting for moblix.app.
We do not share your data with anyone else unless we are legally obliged to do so, for example by a court order.
How long we keep data
- Events and evidence photos: according to your plan – Free 7 days, Home 30 days, Pro 90 days – then deleted automatically.
- Account data: as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Usage statistics: 14 months.
- Purchase records: as long as required by tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To use these rights, write to privacy@moblix.app. You can also delete your account directly in the app.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work, or with the authority responsible for us in Germany.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to stored events is protected by Firebase security rules bound to the account owner. Please protect your account with a strong password and keep your phone locked.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the app or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. We will inform you in the app about significant changes before they take effect.
